Career and Life Coaching - What It's About, and Your Investment in Your Life and Work
No fee for an initial half hour to two hour discussion of your needs and
introduction to Coaching in-person or by phone. Rates for Coaching Conversations
essentially range from $80 - $120 per 60-90 minute session. Often Clients will start with 3 sessions to make sure
it's a good fit, then go on a monthly retainer basis, which involves 2 to 4 sessions plus emails in between.
Many Clients focus on Coaching in Job Search or Job Interview Preparation or both, often in conjunction with
updating and strengthening a Résumé. Many Clients enjoy the benefits of more in-depth,
reflective work - along with Job Search, Networking, etc. All Clients are encouraged to be honest
with themselves, but just as much so, to be fair with themselves. It's amazing how many of us are
actually overly hard on ourselves - but that's a subject for the more reflective Coaching sessions.
Coaching sessions can often be a combination of steady pacing towards a goal, clarification of a goal
or a set or series of goals, or a process of realizing that some long-standing goals haven't been
working because they really aren't a match to a Client's actual desires, energies and interests.
But just as often Coaching is about finding ways that genuine goals or interests haven't worked -
to help identify what's needed now so they can work. And, thinking through what the day-to-day experience
can be once a goal is reached. This is the opposite of going to school, graduating, and then finding out
what it's like day to day to carry out a job or career. This is about understanding that now, and often
through a step-by-step process of getting support and real-world knowledge out in the community.
In-depth forms of Coaching are about genuine self-awareness X imagination X planning X actions.
Coaching is about how hopes, dreams and fears get a chance to get grounded, and old patterns and habits get a chance to get
liberated, and our bravest sentiments and goals get turned into something we know we can do, and we go for, and achieve.
A big part of what Coaching is about - is some one to talk to about these things, who will stimulate your interests,
help you expand your horizons, focus your energies, and do things you thought you couldn't, wouldn't or shouldn't do,
that will benefit you.
